The Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection

Snakeapalooza Packaging!
One of my favorite game series of all time is Metal Gear and I played the main titles from the classic MSX title Metal Gear - a bonus game from MGS3 Subsistence - up to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and tried some of its spin-offs (Metal Gear Acid and Metal Gear Mobile). And it's time to celebrate Metal Gear's 25th anniversary and relive the gaming memories on the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection.

And once again, Big Boss made me buy this collection, just like he demanded me to buy a PSP (because of Peace Walker) LOL!

This is going to be a review... sort of :D

To me, this packaging is much better than the NA version
The packaging is very classy being a Legacy Collection and all. A matte box with huge and glossy MGS Collection lettering with images of Big Boss and Solid Snake (no Raiden) in it.

WHAT'S IN THE PACKAGE
Disc 1: Enhanced Blu-ray disc (hybrid of game and Blu-ray video)
- Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty HD Edition
- Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD Edition (with classic MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake)
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition
- Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 digital graphic novels (artwork done by Ashley Wood)

Disc 2:
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (Trophy version)

Digital Downloads (PSone Classics)
- Metal Gear Solid
- Metal Gear Solid: Integral (VR Missions)

Bonus Stuff
- 100-page booklet that contains promotional images, posters used to hype and advertise the Metal Gear games

Now that's a lot of games for a cheap price! It contains 8 games (including digital download ones and in-game games) and a very nice art booklet which is a selling point to me. And let me tell you, that MGS3 looks beautiful in HD, it's like an early PS3 title and runs in 60 frames per second! And looking back at these games (MGS2 and MGS3) I noticed that the lip syncing is terrible, but the great voice acting and story masks that little flaw.

SNAAAAAAKKKEEE!
The art booklet's cover got a matte texture and doesn't attract oily smudges lol. The front features Yoji Shinkawa's artwork of the Snakes: Solid Snake, Liquid Snake and Big Boss. The booklet contains promotional posters and images used in game covers, magazines, etc. and it ranges from Metal Gear to Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

Since I played these games a long time ago, and even got the Platinum Trophy for MGS4 recently, replaying them gives a nostalgia feeling. Other replay motivators are the trophy support of the HD collection games. It will be more awesome if they include the soundtracks for the games but that will make the price go sky high.

Yep, a collection with THE collection.

Cheers!
