[Toy Review] Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Gadget Collection from Petron

I got a batch of nice stuff from a gasoline station. Petron have a gadget collection that features the characters from the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that will be showing in cinemas in March 26, 2016 (Philippines). Each character here have different gadget functions and I will be reviewing them all in this single post. By the way these are made as busts which is a nice touch in my opinion, it adds more epic sauce to it.

I classify these gadgets as toys or a novelty items and placed this review on my Various Toy Reviews page.

Blog Owner's Note: Sorry for some blurry (or noise-filled) pictures, my hands are very shaky and I lost my tripod plate for the camera. And I'm doing this review on my new office/workplace and refreshing myself on using proper lighting and not depending on camera flash (get it, "Flash"? As in the Flash from DC Comics... ehehe, I'll shut up now).

PACKAGING

The frontside of the boxes.

The packaging is a window-type, you can already view the gadget inside the box's viewing window. The packaging is presented very well, it's premium-like.

Right side of the packaging

You can read the character's info at the right side. Nice photos of the heroes too.

The left part of the boxes

If you want to know how to use the gadget, check the left side of the box.

The box's backside.
All boxes have the same back design.
The backside only shows a large picture of Batman and Superman staring at each other and the entire gadget collection, there are 4 of them.

The Gadgets: Superman Digital Clock, Batman USB Hub, Wonder Woman Multicharger, Armored Batman LED Lamp.

THE GADGETS

Like I said earlier, all characters are made as busts and they all look good.

SUPERMAN DIGITAL CLOCK

Superman Gadget Bust

Closer look on Superman's glossy face
Superman's face sculpt looks good It kinda resembles Henry Cavill in some way, Probably it could use some good paint modding, maybe that could fix the look of Superman's face.

Nice sculptwork on the suit.
The detail on Superman's suit is great but it lacks the detail on the emblem, still passable though. I like those kinda meshy patterns. Paintjob is great too, I didn't see any paint problems on this one.

This is pretty easy enough to configure
You can configure the time, date and month by pressing the MODE (Left) and SET (Buttons). If you want to cycle view the time, date or month, just press the MODE button. If you want to set, for example the time, press the SET button if the screen shows the time. This one is useful but it if they added an alarm clock function that will be even nicer. This gadget is powered by a small watch battery.

BATMAN USB HUB

Batman Gadget Bust
Batman's face, wheres the dirty rugged look?
Batman's or Batfleck's masked face looks good but he's not rugged like I saw in the trailers.

That's a huge Bat logo! Cool!
His suit is smooth, like it's brand new. It lacks the battle scratches/damage and few other details. Great paintjob though

This is the cable that you connect to the computer.
Sorry I forgot to take a photo of at its back where you can find the 2 USB ports
There are 2 extra USB ports at the back of Batman's gadget bust. They work pretty well, but it doesn't work on some other stuff. I tried to use this gadget to connect my DSLR to the computer, it doesn't read it. So just use this for your USB drives.

If you lack USB ports on your desktop/laptop then this will add a few ports.

WONDER WOMAN MULTI CHARGER

Wonder Woman Gadget Bust

She look like she needs more coffee
The face sculpt is great and she looks a bit like Gal Gadot, her head shape and facial structure is kinda accurate. Like Superman, this Wondwer Woman could use some paint modding. BTW her skin paint looks kinda orangey.

Very nice detail on her suit
The sculpt on her suit looks really good. I like that it's detailed with those linings. Paintjob is great too without any paint bleeds or chippings.

So many cables!
Another useful gadget. If you got lots of phones/tablets and you ran out of wall sockets to charge your phone/tablet, you can use this Wonder Woman Multicharger instead.

These cables are working properly.
The multicharger have 4 different cables to match any phone/tablet you have. It can even charge your old Nokia phone, yes Nokia especially their feature phones which I still use as a business phone. The 4 cables are: "Thin/Small Pin-type" (Nokia phones), Mini-USB, Micro USB, and Lightning Connector (iOS devices).

This gadget is prepped to charge up to 4 different devices

ARMORED BATMAN LAMP

Armored Batman Gadget Bust

RoboBat or "RoBat"!
Like the normal Batman, I don't see any problems on the face sculpt and It also lacks the rugged look.

Checking out the armor.
The bust is made of translucent plastic with some bits of glitters around and its surface is smooth and glossy. I think it's supposed to be rough textured, still looks good anyway. There are some paintwork on the bust located at the undersuit (the layer under the metal) of Batman's armor.

Yep, that emblem is the on/off button.
This one is not that useful unless there are power outages in your house. To compensate for the lack of usefulness, they added a fun feature: if you press the Batman/Superman emblem to turn on the lamp, Armored Batman will speak his line "Tell me, do you bleed?" and if you press the emblem again to turn it off, he will speak again and say "You will..." before the lamp turns off. This gadget is powered by two AAA batteries.

The Bat Lamp switched on.
I can see modders painting the entire armor except the eyes.
If you're an "accuracy/detail nut", you might need to find a very good painter to make your gadget collection more accurate to their movie counterparts. If you're good at painting/modding yourself then by all means paint mod these gadgets and I would like to see them :D

CONCLUSION

Well this is a fun set of gadgets. Three of them are very useful, the other one kinda useful and all of them are functioning properly without any issues. I like the way they made them as busts, and they're kinda large too (that sounded pervy if you're mind is perverted LOL!). Anyway, you can buy a single gadget at Petron gasoline stations by adding 200.00PhP for every 500.00PhP gasoline purchase, that's a total of 700.00PhP. If you want to collect them all, they will cost a total of 2,800.00Php. Let me remind you that this promo started February 25 and will end in March 31, 2016. Can't wait to watch the movie!

Collect them all!
The digital clock and lamp have batteries already included inside their box.

Cheers and Happy Collecting!
